The issue has been described as follows:-
The editor appears to a Jaws user as a series of edit boxes, however, once you go into Forms Mode it is possible to cursor around the text as you would expect.
It was possible to select text and do some basic formatting with it, e.g. Bold, Underline, Italic. This was easily achieved because these functions can be performed with standard keystrokes.
It was also possible to perform any task from the toolbar, though this was rather cumbersome since you have to come out of forms mode, go to the top of the document, search for the icon, activate it and then navigate back to the edit area. For this control to be deemed fully usable it would be necessary to have keystrokes for each of the functions performed by the icons.
Spell Check
The spell check function available with the rich text editor was usable with Jaws but was very cumbersome to use.
Because this spell check is developed in HTML it is quite difficult (or, more accurately, long-winded to navigate. Its use could be speeded up considerably by applying ACCESSKEYs to each of the form controls in the dialogue.
ACCESSKEYs
Usage of the site could be dramatically speeded up by the inclusion of ACCESSKEYs for the most commonly used links and fields
Any advice you can offer would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
