Is ASP4.0 ready for use in a hosted virtual directory setup?  I have 3.0 now with the server license for multiple client websites one one server.  It is working--after much difficulty, as you know--and I don't want to upgrade until 4.0 is proven to work in a VD setup.

The version 4.0 has no problem with the virtual directory.

 

But it may need some customization for your particular project.

I am not asking for details on "how to customize."  I am asking:  will code have to be modified or will my webhost server environment have to be structured so that my multiple client websites on the one server will be able to point to the VD just as it does now in the ASP3.0 fashion.

Yes.  You need to modify your code as followings:

 

 

1. We have moved the include_CuteEditor.asp file into the CuteEditor_Files folder in the version 4.0.

On the top of you ASP page, you should include the following code:

2. Retrieving the data from editor:

If you specify your editor ID is "Editor1"

In the version 3.0:

Retrieving the data from editor using: Request.Form("Editor1_HTMLContent")

In the version 4.0:

Retrieving the data from editor using: Request.Form("Editor1")
