Hello,
the Image Gallery is a good component, but there are areas which I think could be improved. Some of the suggestions below are also listed in the forum by other users.
- Modification of the way the batch functionality is working.
It works fine if all the pictures in an album is uploaded as on bunch, and then supplemented by uploading pictures ine-by-one.
But presently, if a user already has added “Image title” and “Description” on existing pictures in the album, and upload a bunch of pictures to the same album (at least more than one) and uses the batch functionality, all the information inserted for the existing pictures is lost (the patience for the user is badly effected as well….).
It would be VERY nice if existing information for pictures could be kept when doing a batch run-through.
- A simple way of setting up more albums, for instance a gallery per sub-folder. Then sub-folder creation must be enabled.
- Sorting order for the pictures in each album, for instance an arrow to move pictures up/down
- Transition effects between pictures in the slide-show
- Putting all the dialog texts in the language file, now translations must be hard-coded as well as inserted in the language file.
- Maybe the Image Gallery could be offered as an integrated part of the editor as well as a stand-alone application? I believe you could still require a valid licence file in order to make it work.
By this the user could utilize the pictures, both in the image gallery and in his other articles (providing he is using the CuteEditor), and some of the functionality in CuteEditor could be used in the Gallery.
Looking forward to your response (and hopefully an updated version of the Image Gallery)
