Plain text pasting and formatting problems on IE8

    Hi guys
     
    Problem happens on Internet Explorer 7 and 8
     
    When I click 'Paste as plane text' icon, a message comes up asking if I want to access clipboard. After I agree, pop-up form doesn't come up and the text is pasted directly into the editor area. Then, after such pasting, editor won't insert bullet lists properly - even If I highlight only a small block of the text to be a bullet list, the whole text changes into one bullet list block
     
    It doesn't happen on Firefox
     
    Any ideas how to fix this? Editor is not usable on IE because of that

    same thing unfortunately... first popup doesn't appear, second, it won't format correctly

    Thanks for your reply. In IE7. we tried the following:
     
    First we cleared all content from the editor window
     
    Then copied 3 paragraphs of text into the editor using the Paste as Plain text tool
     
    If we try to add a bullet point to one of the paragraphs all three become indented for some reason..

    Guys... any news on that? This bug happens on all PCs I tested with either IE7 or IE8 installed.
    And it's not only on self installed versions of the editor, but also on your demonstration editor that you linked to earlier.
     
    This is a major bug that needs to be addressed

    This is a important issue as the editor is not really usable in IE. Do you know if there is a workaround or if it will be resolved soon...

    This is not an online Eidtor issue. It's about HTML List Rules.
     

    First let's make a test. 

    Type the following HTML code into your FrontPage: 

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

    test<br/>

     

    Select the first line and click the order list. 

    You will find out FrontPage has the same behavior as Cute Editor. 

    The <br> tag is a special HTML element, not a Block-level element like <div>, <p> 

    Like other editors, Cute Editor implements the IE MSHTML Editing Platform.  

    One of the general rules for what happens when you click on a list toolbar button:

    For selected paragraphs that are not list items, make each paragraph a list item. 

    It's a bit tricky when intervening <br> element. The users may want the editor automatically remove <br> elements; And also want the editor add a list item between each <br>...

    I don't follow.. I mean, I understand thing with <br> but I don't get it how should I prepare the text to be working as list
     
    If I paste 3 paragraphs into the area, I get three block of text separated by one <br>. When I highlight one paragraph and click Insert List, it applies it to the whole text, not only the highlighted paragraph
     
    In other words, how exactly do I transform a paragraph into a <p> or <div> block, only by using available tools, (not by using HTML which person that will use the editor has no idea of)

    Ok, what happened to the original question? Got the same problem, cant use "paste as plain text" in IE8.
    I to get the access clipboard popup, and if i ok that one nothing happens.
    Also if i click "paste as plain text" again, i get a link or junktext like Bw8Y*SxwYE-%P%  inserted in my editor.
     
    This was noted by one of my customers on a 64bit system but I get the same behaviour on my 32 bit system.
