I am PastingAsText from Notepad into CuteEditor, then saving the text into an Oracle database.  When I pull the text back, it is unviewable on my Crystal Reports report.  When I try to view the text in Toad or the .Net Text Visualizer, the text has been altered to have "/0" between the words.  I thought the PasteAsText would strip all formatting from the string?

There are two concepts.

 

Editor.PlainText

This property is read-only. If you want to store the document text in a database which is searchable, you can use the output of this property to create an HTML-free copy for indexing.

PasteAsText only strip all formatting from the string only when pasting the content into editor.

I don't want to search the text, I only want print it in the report.  For some reason the pasted text that is saved does not render on the report. 

 

Text that is typed into the editor directly is rendered on the report just fine.  If I view it in the database it looks like:

The problem seems to be only with text that is pasted, even when "Pasted as Text".  It looks like:

Also, it seems that if the string is relatively short, it saves and renders correctly.  But, if the string is long, we have our problem.  I am trying to determine the specific length where the problem occurs.

Before you save the content into the DB, can you print it out using a literal control.

 

If it doesn't have any problem, please check your DB culture setting.
