    Multiple Website Purchase

Hi.  This is Larry.  I just joined and am researching "Cute Live Support" as a possible solution for me.  I have few websites that I setup and maintain on behalf of a few clients and I also have my own business website.

Currently, I am the only support person and handle requests via e-mail and logs that I just check from time-to-time.  As I look at the possibility of purchasing "Cute Live Support" I have read the licensing and how it operates and I have come to the following assumptions.  Please let me know if I am correct:
    1.   I am a single operator, but support multiple client websites, so I am thinking that the Small Business License (10 websites) is appropriate
    2.   It appears that when an operator or agent logs in then they may be logging into just ONE website
    3.  That would mean that I would need to have the same number of instances (logons) as I have websites (i.e.; 4 websites-4 logons)
    4.  One of the websites is my wife's business as a commercial fundraiser.  I am wondering if she logs on to support people visiting her website... if it is possible to have my wife pass control of a conversation she my have to me if they have a technical question.

Lastly, I host websites with 2 web hosting providers and they have separate servers for MS-SQL than they do for the websites.  A typical connection string for one of my websites looks like this:

    <add name="LocalSqlServer" connectionString="Data Source=tcp:sql2k801.discountasp.net;Integrated Security=False; Initial Catalog=SQL2008_571326_sierrariders;Persist Security Info=True;User ID=name_of_the_database_admin_user;Password=the_admin_password" providerName="System.Data.SqlClient"/>

The "Data Source" portion of the connection string appears to point to the separate server that has MS-SQL 2008 installed.  I have downloaded your trial copies and used the script to setup the CuteLiveSupport tables with no problem.

My timing may be bad because I was wanting to purchase this weekend, but the CuteSoft offices appear to be closed.

Thanks for any information on the questions/issues described.

    Re: Multiple Website Purchase

    Hi Larry,

If you are the ONLY operator, all the calls route to you no matter where they originate from, then a Domain license may be enough. Install LiveSupport onto your main control site. Then on all other websites, make ONLINE/OFFLINE buttons all point to your main control site's installation instance. In this setup, regardless of from which site the chat button is clicked, they will be directed to talk to you - the only operator. Of course, your end users don't show this redirection as it's all behind their back.Your wife can logon to the main control site just like you and try to handle non technical questions.Certainly there is a draw back to this setup - all sites share customers. If you are the only operator, I don't see a big concern on this.

Yes, today is Sat, our office is closed but if you purchase through our BUY NOW buttons, you will get temp license to enable your sites by instant email.

    Re: Multiple Website Purchase

Thanks for such a very quick reply on a weekend.  You mentioned sacrificing the option of keeping customers separate.  I also see that I might lose tracking and being able to initiate an invite to a specific visitor when I see they hit a specific web page on a specific website.

With that in mind, unless I am getting it wrong, the Small Business license (for 10 domains) may be best for me... even though I don't have 10 websites to manage yet... and it would require a separate instance running for each separate client's website (domain).

I can live with that as your product evolves... to perhaps be able to manage mutiple websites/domains from a single console application shared between operators/agents.  It sounds promising.

I guess the last thing to be concerned about is the utilization of the database.  Is there any problem in sharing a single database between domains/websites using MS-SQL 2008 on a separate server?  Or would using an MS-Access standalone database on each website be more direct and simple?

    Thanks Again!!!

    Re: Multiple Website Purchase

This is Larry again.  It is Sunday evening and your offices will be open again tomorrow morning (before I get up on the west coast).

I just thought of another issue/question.  If I purchase the Small Business package (supporting 10 domains/websites)... can they be "mixed"?

For example (Cute Live Support mixed scenarios):
1 website on a SQL Server 2008 on 1 ServerABC
2 websites on another SQL Server 2008 on Server123
1 website using an MS-Access database (Snitz Forum) on a 3rd website
1 website using an MS-Access database (Snitz Forum) on a 4th website
    etc, etc

The important thing is to be able to distinguish visitors on separate websites and being able to manage, monitor, track and support them separately... as a single operator (me)... at first... and perhaps adding operators, as necessary (my wife).

Just trying to get the best fit or solution here.

    Thanks Again.

    larry,

I suggest  you use the cross domain solution of Cute Live Support.

You can install Cute Live Support on domain A, for other sites, you can use the cross domain solution. You can also track the site visitors and invite the customers.

We installed live support on CuteSoft.net and use it on AjaxUploader.com, PhpfileUploader.com, phphtmledit.com, aspuploader....

Please check the following article for details.

    Hope it helps.

    Keep me posted
