I found something that might be helpful in figuring this out.  I hard coded the setting of the .Text value to "test hardcoded input <b>from</b> source code."  Now, when running under IE on my PC I see just that text.  However, when running on MAC/Safari, it's blank and uneditable.  When I view the page source within Safari I find the input field (after the IFrame) has the following value "t#9#7t hardc#5d#9d input #1b#2fr#5m#1/b#2 #7#5urc#9 c#5d#9..."

Does that tell you anything?
