I'll try what you suggested, but the sample works in my current installation.  I did discover one more thing.  If I link to an image that is available on the internet, the sample images from cutesoft/upload for example, everything works fine.  However, if I link to an image that is on the LAN and not available on the internet, it does not work.  Is there any reason that would happen?  This is consistent behavior regardless of the images I am using.
