I am an in a similar position but the user environment is a bit different.

Cute Editor: 5.3

Platform: Mac

Browser: Firefox - latest version

 

When a client creates a new session and logs in to use the editor for the first time in that session. The editor behaves exactly as expected. For every other attempt in that session. The following problem occurs: 

or "whatever command was selected". Also user cannot edit any of the content inside the text editor. If the user restarts the session (new instance of a browser) logs in; they can complete an editing task just once. For every other attempt in the session the tool disables with the behavior I described above.

 

I can't replicate the error on the example page as specified by Adam. I have loaded the latest version of the tool (except for config files) and the issue is persisting.
