I just checked V5.3, using the same extensive asterisk list and there is no noticeable delay when typing. In fact, I pasted the huge list 5 more times into the editor and there was no delay in typing.

 

Can you please check this issue in V6.0 and advise us? We need to release our product as soon as possible.
