I can answer part of this question. The Size indicator is not truncated. If no specific size has been set for the text specified, then the Size indicator will prompt with "Size". If text is then given a size attribute, it will show. Here are some screen shots:
1. No text size specified explicitly
2. Word "validated" set to size 4, but cursor in a different part of question:
3. Cursor now in word "validated" - size shows "4"
Note that the icons now appear on three rows, to make room for the expanded space used by the Size drop-down.
