Problem originates typically from documents pasted into editor from Word, but the problem is spotty and goes beyond it.  Either way, there's issues with the way you'd expect this to behave:

 EXAMPLE:

In the example above:

1) Highlight "Thank" and then bold it

2) Highlight "for" and then bold it

3) Highlight "for" again, and then change the font color to RED by clicking the "font color" icon in the tool bar.

 

 PROBLEM ILLUSTRATED:

3) only "for" should be bold + red
