Once a file is in the process of uploading, is there a way of capturing the cancel upload button event so i can then show/hide other elements? Code behind event if possible...

Yes you can do it!!!just check the example for ''Custom file upload handler''. u'll get the exact example over there.  

actually it seems to be doing it for anything I try to upload and any file type, images, media, flash, e.t.c.
