Trial Version Chat_Config

Hello,

I downloaded and installed the trial version of cutechat but was not able to change permissions on the remote database. When I ran CuteSoftConfig.exe, it failed probably for this reason. So I tried to add the appropriate data to the Cute_Config table but I am not 100% sure what is supposed to go there and I am also not sure what else CuteSoftConfig.exe might do. Could anyone provide me with what is supposed to be the contents of the Cute_Config database table and anything else that CuteSoftConfig.exe might do?

So I installed this again and got a completely different set of error messages: Here is what I get now:

Could not load type from assembly CuteSoft.Chat, Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=da0fc3a24b6f18ba.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Exception Details: System.TypeLoadException: Could not load type from assembly CuteSoft.Chat, Version=2.1.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=da0fc3a24b6f18ba.

Source Error:

The source code that generated this unhandled exception can only be shown when compiled in debug mode. To enable this, please follow one of the below steps, then request the URL:

1. Add a "Debug=true" directive at the top of the file that generated the error. Example:

  <%@ Page Language="C#" Debug="true" %>

or:

2) Add the following section to the configuration file of your application:

   <system.web>
       <compilation debug="true"/>
   </system.web>
</configuration>

Note that this second technique will cause all files within a given application to be compiled in debug mode. The first technique will cause only that particular file to be compiled in debug mode.

Important: Running applications in debug mode does incur a memory/performance overhead. You should make sure that an application has debugging disabled before deploying into production scenario.

Have you created the virual directory for testing?

Can post your file structure?

Hello,

My file structure is:

C:\CuteChat\Web

Yes, I have created the virtual directory in IIS.

The issue might be related to the database table since I couldn't run the CuteChatConfig.exe but I did add data based on a post I read.

Brad,

I think you have problems with your file structure because we have the error message "Could not load type from assembly CuteSoft.Chat"

Can you make sure you create a virtual direcroty and point it to "C:\CuteChat\Web"?

Hello Adam,

Yes, I have created the virtual directory. Indeed, I have uninstalled and reinstalled about 5 times this morning, creating a virtual directory each time and I get an error message each time. This time the error message is:

Is there an issue with "GetLobbies????" As aforementioned, I had to manually add the database info. Perhaps I added something wrong there?

I was finally able to get this to work but only after I was able to run the CuteChatConfig.exe. I am not sure what exactly that does but as soon as I was able to successfully run that, both of my installations worked. So I think it was a database issue. What exactly does this CuteChatConfig.exe do Adam? It would be nice to know for future reference.

Now I get another error message within the app:

Connection Failed.: Check CuteChat General License Failed : String was not recognized as a valid DateTime.

Any ideas?

Okay I finally found a download of another trial version license on this site and it worked. I don't know why the license that I originally downloaded did not work.
