I've think I've discovered a new firefox bug. If you mark some of the content in the editor, without first typing in the editor, the delete and backspace buttons (on the keyboard) aren't working. If I first type a character everything works. I've reproduced the problem here:

I think you forgot to fix this problem. I still can reproduce the problem on the online demo

It has been six months since this bug was reported. Has there been any progress? This is a major issue on the site I am developing.
