    Hi there,
     
    I need to be able to copy a table from Excel and paste it into the editor. This works fine but no matter what paste method I use (normal, from Word) the column alignments always default to Left, for example:

    Overseas Indicies Current +/- % Previous Trend
    Dow Jones 0,000.00 +0.0 0.0000 0.0000 Up
    NASDAQ 0,000.00 +0.0 0.0000 0.0000 Down
    S&P 500 0,000.00 +0.0 0.0000 0.0000 Sideways
    FTSE 100 0,000.00 +0.0 0.0000 0.0000
    Nikkei 225 0,000.00 +0.0 0.0000 0.0000

    All columns after the first one should be right aligned and are  in the Excel document. If I edit the HTML I can apply align=right to the columns manually. I just tried to demonstrate this here but your forums don't display it correctly anyway.
    Obviously I don't want the user to do this. 

    How can I ensure columns come through from Excel correctly? Is there an easier way to manipulate the columns when in the editor?

    When copy/paste from the excel to editor, the content of Excel is converted to HTML code. The column alignments will be lost.
     
    Right now we don't have the solution to this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Hi there,

    That is a shame.

    Alternatively is there an easy way once the HTML table is in the editor to select an entire column and apply a 'left', 'right' or 'center' to the colgroup tag? I can do this in the HTML, but do not expect my client to do this.

    I don't even seem to be able to highlight a column..?

    I'd like to bring this issue up again.  My users are having this same complaint.  They would like to be able to control column properties.  I understand there is more difficulty involved.  You can put the row settings in the <TR> tag.  There is no "TableColumn" tag in HTML.  Any chance this will be addressed in a future version?

    Hi,

    Any further news on this? If not the ability to copy/paste from Excel properly and keep the cell alignments, can we have a proper way of selecting an entire row and entire column of a html table within the editor?

      Row properties edit row properties

    You can change use the "row properties" button to modify the color, alignment of the whole row.

    But there is no "Colunmn properties" button avaiable.

    Hello SimonM,
    probably not what you are looking for, but as a circumvent you could copy the table from Excel to Word first, and then copy from Word to the editor. By doing this the column alignments are kept right.
    This is probably something your clients could do.
