Imo Cute Chat adds the final touch to the CS platform. I downloaded the CuteChatforCommunityStarterKit.zip file, as it appeared to be the closest thing, and followed the steps 1-8 in Readme.txt setup
1) Unzipped 2) Placed cute_chat libraries in web/ incl. those for bin/ 3) Ran the cutechat2.sql script against the cs.mbf using EMS MS SQL lite, adding some 20 tables beginning with Chat_Active_Channel, Chat_Active_Online etc. etc. and finally Chat_User_User right. Right! 4) Ran CuteChatConfig.exe => conn string accepted and import_this.xml successfully included in db, it said. 5) Web.config modified accordingly. Tooooo easy...party over
6a) Go for admin login (CS) and look for the 'Edit Sections' menu - err.. what "Edit Sections" and where?? Add new section..hmm. At best the CS 2.0 beta 3 has a DisableApplications section, ie. forum, blogs, galleries, files, reader (RSS) and roller (rss) on/off by radio button. It is not setup for new modules.
My ver. of CS is of course running under the free community license, as opposed to standard license. Could that be my problem?
If so, is there a way to kick-start the chat anyway - some sort of default.aspx or whatever that responds to direct link? I'd really like to hear the angeles sing "you're just about there", but if it has to be "forget it" I can take it.
Any thoughts on this...
