Still not able to uplaod an image. I have deleted the existing /uploads folder from just below the root directory on the Earthlink server. On the original uploads folder on my local machine, I gave the following permissions to the IUSR_LOCALMACHINE account:

 

Read & Execute

List Folder Contents

Read

Write

 

Then I ftp'd this folder back to the root of the Earthlink server. I ftp'd an image file into it, so I could be sure that I was looking at the folder I thought I was looking at. But when I try to upload through the editor interface, it waits for about 10 seconds (I'm on a cable modem connection), and then I still get the same Permission Denied error as above.

 

By the way, I double checked, and on the server, all three filers in the CuteEditor_Files/Configuartion/Security folder have this line:

 

 <security name="ImageGalleryPath">/uploads</security>

 

so it would seem to be expecting the uploads folder right below the root, where it is.

 

Any other suggestion(s)?

If you did create an "upload" folder under below the root directory of your site, that must be a permission issue.

 

After you recreate the folder, please make sure you set the permission again.

 

If you still get the permission errror, is that possible to pass this issue to your web host?

Yes, I was careful wih the permissions on recreating the folder. I will take it up with the folks at Earthlink and see if they can provide some help.

Just reporting back, so as to close the loop. The issue ended up being with the Earthlink server -- they want every folder with Write permissions for uploads to be housed under a specific directory. I moved my uploads file there and it's now working.
