Installed 2.2, Get The License for Editor is not valid error.

Had 2.1, then installed CuteEditor 2.2 and now I get the "The License for Editor is not valid." error message.

It was working fine on Sunday, but this morning it fails. I have changed nothing else and I am at a complete loss.

Help.

Where did you intall your license key file (CuteEditor.lic)?

Did you add an entry to your Web.config file? If so, please note that we made a change in version 2.2. Now you need to access the file using http relative path instead of accessing license key file using hardcoded local file path name.

Before:

~~<add key="CuteEditorLicense" value="c:/keys/CuteEditor.lic" />~~

I have added the following to web.config:

</appSettings>

I have put the cute_lic dir in both the wwwroot and in the app dir, neither place worked. When I had the cute_lic dir in the wwwroot, I used the path of "../cute_lic/CuteEditor.lic", it didn't work either.

This is frustrating considering I bought the license and now it won't work.

I have the server license.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Have you run it successfully on your localhost with the temp license file come with the download package?

I am currently trying to reinstall the 2.1 version, but having some difficulty with the GAC.

It appears that something has gone wrong with my license file, the funny thing is it worked yesturday.

Finally, I got things working again. Don't put 2 versions of the same assembly but with different file names in the same dir, all kinds of problems occur.

Got 2.1 reinstated and it's working again, with my correct license file. If I install 2.2, it will not work.

Please look into the upgrade problem as I will stay with 2.1 until something is done with the license issue.

Just wondering if there is a solution to the upgrade problem? I wish to use 2.2 but can't.

I would like to modify the link dialog, but when I create a vb codebehind and attempt to run the control, the <%=Str_title%> objects cause an error that they are not defined.

Delete all the files in the CuteEditor_files folder. let CuteEditor extract all the files again.

Deleted the directory. But when I load the page, I still get the license error, and the cuteeditor_files driectory is not being created.

If I use the trial version lic file, then it works fine on my localhost, but even my real lic file will not work on localhost.

Hi Adam

I purchased the license yesterday and am having exactly the same problem as outlined in this thread. The temp license worked fine locally, but when moved to a server it stopped working. I got the proper license yesterday and still no joy. Please help ASAP. I don't have access to an older version to try.

I get the same error. Very similar to everyone else. It was working one day, then the next day it stopped. I've tried reupload the lic file, CuteSoft has sent me other lic files and I can't get any of them to work.

Pretty frustrating. I released the app to my client a few days ago when all was well. Then shortly after, it stops working. Very embarrassing for me as a developer.

I was using this Cute Editor in my .NET application for the past 20 or days. Suddenly it stopped working from today(11th Nov 2004). Its a trial version. We showed this to our Client and they are very happy and bought a server license (we are waiting for the license). But i'm not able to find why this happened suddenly in a days span of time. Is there anything like the license will expire after a certain period of time? Please help. My development has been put to hold b'coz of this problem. :(

You must be using the temp license file on your production server.

Please find the license file we sent to you and upload it to your server.

If you can't find the license file, email us and specify the email address used for purchasing in your email.
