Privacy/Cookie settings information needed

Snitz & Webmessenger

Problem:

Users who are logged in on a partcular Windows XP SP2 workstation are not recognized bij de chat application so they can't use the feature te go to the chat application without giving an username.

I think it has to do with some privacy/cookie settings.

Is there some information available about this?

I am familiair with the article (it did not solved the problem) but what are the required settings for snitz and cutechat so i can communicate this with my client who has the problem.

The problem exposes itself also in firefox in Windows 2003 and Windows XP (sp1 & sp2)

snitz stores the user login information in the cookie. Cute Chat read login information from this cookie too. If the client disable the cookie, Sniz forum will not be able to get the user login information.

I know tha and i can see the created cookies, but the application apparently does not use it. for the test we have even set the cookie handler to accept ALL cookies and an other test where we put the website in the trusted site zone.

We have tried serveral workstations on different places but we are having the same problem.

I have no idea how to trace what is happing and why this is not happening. Even workstations that worked yesterday do not work anymore. I placed the latest Snitz download.

Does it happen to all clients or one particular client?

Can you let your client test the following example?

Adam,

The client has tested the example, also with Firefox 1.5. The problem still arises.

Problem solved.

Indeed it is the name of the cookie. The application has te be a root application (why is that not mentioned in the documentation).

(Added 20070221) We used the following domainname http://<domain>/forum. What i do not understand is, why the sample didn't work at the clients office.
