HTML Editor Modifies Code when switching to Normal mode

We use the Cute Editor to compose HTML email messages. In order to create a message that will display appropriately in multiple email clients (Including the new Outlook 2007), the structure of the HTML must be very basic with SHORT lines of code, no CSS, limited span tags, no DIVs, etc.

However, the HTML editor has a bad habit of rearranging our code so that it does not render correctly on on the email clients. What settings can we change to keep the editor from making ANY changes to our code?

Specifically, the last problem I had was that I had five lines of code that made up a series of five links within a table. It worked fine until I put it in the editor which then stripped out the line returns and made these lines into one line of 2078 characters. This is too long for many email clients to process so then my font information was stripped out by the email clients.

Please set Editor.EnableAntiSpamEmailEncoder Property to false.

Email contact links are an invaluable part of any web page. However, they are also vulnerable to a particular type of web robot known as the spam harvester or spambot. A spam harvester can read through the pages in your site and extract email addresses which are then added to bulk marketing databases. CuteEditor allows you reduce possible spam by 'disguising' a raw email address in an encoded ASCII form.. You can turn this feature off by setting this property to "false".

Adam,
This does not seem to address my question at all. Does the Editor.EnableAntiSpamEmailEncoder Property address links that are not email addresses?

Here is an example of code that I am using and what is happening.

Here is the original code that I put in the editor:

Here is what ended up in the source of the email. Please note that it strips out the Style information from the link with the actual valid HREF address. The editor ACTUALLY SHOWS IT CORRECT. However, it is being stripped out upon mailing. I did send a test of the message to my Yahoo account to see if it is different there. Yahoo also shows the link without style info.

Here is what happened to the code after I went back and forth from the HTML editor to the Normal view a couple of times and then sent out the message. Note the insertion of img alt=" target=_blank" into the code and the removal of it from the hyperlink code. This is occurring within the editor.

Adam, that is why I am looking for settings that can be changed to tell the editor not to modify the HTML code AT ALL unless someone makes changes from within the editor.

In this particular situation, it looks like multiple href="#" breaks some Regular expression of Cute Editor. If you change href="#" to href="###", the problem will be resolved. We are investigating this issue and will reply with more details.

Hi Adam,

Based on my extensive review of the operation of the editor, the lack of style and font information from the initial HREF tag is being caused by our system. however, the use of the href="###" has solved the other issue.

The system is still concatenating all lines within the Table Data cell as one line of code. This is not good and we would be interested in a solution that allowed these lines to be separate.

No.

I've found the problem. As I said, if you replace all href="#" with href="###", this issue will be resolved.

I didn't find any email code in your HTML.

A email link should look like this:

<a href="mailto:[email protected]"> My email </a>

I found this:

Thanks for your quick reply Adam.

I updated my post above while you were crafting your reply so we have some overlapping comments.

When I discuss email, what I mean is that we are using your editor to create and edit complete HTML email messages that are then sent from our eMail Marketing solution. I am not talking about specific mailto URLS.
