How can you modify the dialog boxes for both the Image Selecotor and Document Selector

For instance: I dont want to show any of the Properties stuff when user is selecting a document via the document selector.

I read through the referenced article. Beyond disabling certain functioons, how can I use different paths than those used by default. I have specific folders that are generated by the creation of new accounts and are accessable only by that user. I want them to be able to retrieve data from their folder instead of the default folder(s). Can you guide me in that effort?
