Did you ever get such error message ?

The connection to the chat server is lost.

    Regards , Terry.

No, I haven't been getting kicked out myself.  Just most of my users have.

    cutechat:
By the way ? have you downloaded the last version?
The older version have a bug that may disconnect the user in a few minutes.

Before you download it , you can modify the config and test it :

Open the chat admin page, and then change all room's property "HistoryDay" to 30 .

    Regards , Terry .

Yes, I believe I have the recent version.  I don't get removed if I don't type anymore.  I see the error sometimes before a user is even signed in, then they get signed in ok.  I sometimes see it right after they sign in, and sometimes after they've been in there for a while.  It's almost like it just say's "removed due to inactivity" when it should say "left the room" or something.

I also have the settings turned way up in the chat admin area, so they can sit in there for long periods of time and just watch.

the Inactivity Timeout if for the user who close the browser not correctly .

I never noticed any of this on the v3 system.  I have noticed that if I just X off the chat window, that I have to shut down ALL my IE windows, because they kind of freeze.  Not every time, but often.

Also, most of the time these users are getting booted by the system...not closing the window.

7200 is too large . maybe 300 is better.

That's why I said all i said about AJAX poll callbacks. 120 seconds for timeout is fine, I said, for AJAX poll callbacks, even on really bad connections. But people were being disconnected for not SAYING anything. And then when I changed this to 7200 seconds (that's two hours), their problems seemed to have gone away, and yet when a user really did disconnect by timeout it still timed out in a couple minutes.

So it seems to me that not I but one of CuteSoft's engineers (assuming CuteSoft isn't a one-engineer micro-ISV) got confused about the Inactivity setting.

Ugh, still not the "cure". I just logged into the active chat room and within about five minutes I saw someone who was actively chatting just drop out. "[user] was removed from the channel due to inactivity."

    Inactivity Timeout was still 7200.

We have improved the server/client code to make the CuteChat more stable.

I am still working on the small issues. Please download the new version later.

    Regards, Terry.

Re: users removed from chat due to inactivity

You guys need to update the revision date on your downloads section (looking at the CS2007 integration build). If the previous build was put out there after Nov. 5 then I missed it because I ignored all references to any "updated version" on the basis of the last modified date.

I'll try out the update and post the results here ..

A few hours in, this specific problem hasn't recurred yet. I'll post again if it does.
