Actually that won't be neccesary. I just determined that the problem is actually with goDaddy's shared hosting service in preview mode, and not with the editor. I determined this by installing the editor and a test-page on a different web server that's under my control, but with a different web host. Worked like a charm.
It looks like when your site is in preview mode at GoDaddy, they have some funky http handler or something which displays a brief "you are in preview mode" message, before finally resolving to the requested URL. Or it could be some javaScript they add to each page, that would also break things. Anyway, that appears to be the issue.
