AjaxUploader does not remember the last used directory with IE7

    Hi,
We have been evaluating AJAXUploader and have found that when using IE7 (it's fine with IE6) the control does not remember the last directory used.  Is this an issue with the AJAXUploader or a setting in IE? There was a similar post a month ago but that thread has gone quiet. Any help with this would be great.
    Regards
    Derek

    Derek,

Can you test more in this page ?

How the IE7 forgot the last directory ?

1 - When click the button again ?

    2 - After reload the page ?

    3 - After reboot the IE7 ?

Now I use IE8 compatible IE7 mode and not get such issue.

I will find another PC for testing .

    Regards,
    Terry

Re: AjaxUploader does not remember the last used directory with IE7

    Hi,
In our case, we force UploadType to Flash. It seems that all the users having the problem run IE7.0 on Windows Vista. And thoses who have the problem still have it when using AjaxUploader on your demo web site.
    Hope it can help...

Another user just has reported to me the following:
"I'm using Windows 7 RC with of course IE8 and I can reproduce the issue.
Putting off the Protected Mode in IE8, AjaxUploader can remember the last used directory, so I think that maybe in IE7 (I don't remember if IE7 is featuring procted mode too) the cause is the same."
    Hope it can help too.

Re: AjaxUploader does not remember the last used directory with IE7

    Hi Terry,

The folder is forgotten after just clicking the button again.

    I'm using Vista SP1 and IE7

Testing it on the fulltest.aspx I found that :

The Auto and silverlight buttons didn't remember but the Flash and iframe buttons did.

On my site I tried using UploadType=Flash (as suggested by Pierre) but it didn't work. However, it does seem ok if I use the iframe type.

I will continue testing but hopefully this is a possible work-around.

    Thanks for your help
    Derek

Unfortunately using the IFrame type work around causes a Javascript error when used with Update Panels and also the multi-select doesn't appear to work!

The last browse directory is controlled by browser/addons.

Uuploader can't control it and can't do more about it.
