Separating the links path from the documents path

Why do you use the same settings and dialog boxes for the "Insert Hyperlink" and "Downloadable Files" features? They should be separate. You assume that the only files that anybody would want to create a hyperlink to on the file system are downloable documents.

Personally, I want to use "Insert Hyperlink" to create links to other webpages on my server—in the root folder and below.

Meanwhile, I want to use the "Downloadable Files" to upload and link to PDFs and Word files in a /downloads folder. I don't want people to be able to upload to any other folders, and I only want them to be able to upload specific kinds of documents.

If I use FilesGalleryPath to restrict uploaded files to the /downloads folder, I can no longer browse the root folder to link to webpages. If I restrict the uploadable file types to PDFs and Word files, I can no longer see or link to any webpages on my server.

If I remove both these restrictions, users now have the ability to upload .asp files to the root file of my server and overwrite webpages there.

Please create separate settings for the Hyperlink dialog boxes so they can be controlled separately from the Downloadable Files.

I tried doing this myself by hacking up about a half dozen of the CuteEditor 6.6 files. Seems to work. CE support, could you please take a look and see if I missed anything or if this could be improved? And consider building this into the next release?

If anybody else would like to try this out, just download the files below and dump them in your cuteeditor_files folder, overwriting the existing files. I'd love your feedback.

    Thanks.

Was this feature ever implemented? I just downloaded the latest version and I don't see anything in the application or the support suggesting that it was.
