Disabling Whisper

I need to disable the whisper feature from the website, what is the recomended way to do it?

Step 1. Login as admin. Click the Chat Admin link.

Step 2. Choose the configuration Tab.

Step 3. In the Global Access Control section, find the "Allow private chat". Set it to false.

I tried these steps but it didn't work. I set Allow send file, Allow anonymous and Allow private chat all to False. Then logged out, closed the browser, went to the Main chat room (first with no login then I logged in) but still the Whisper is showing at the bottom of the chat window.

Please advise....

Note that these settings take effect only after a server is restarted.

For performance purpose, CuteChat read the information from the cache.

Those information are usually not frequently updated.

Adam - normally making a change to web.config and saving it will force the application to reload itself. The change can be as minor as adding an addition line feed.

Wouldn't that be enough to force CC to update itself?

I have tried everthing you suggested but disabling the whisper is still not working!!

I set "Allow Private Chat" to false in the chat admin, resarted the application in IIS, stopped and started the web server in IIS, rebooted the web server, even made a change to the web.config but I am still seeing the whisper.

Can someone please get back to me about fixing this issue???

I'm having the same issue. And I agree. Needs to work as advertise. Please post a hot fix asap.

This problem has been fixed in the version 2.1.
