Your product documentation states that the editor does not use deprecated HTML tags, however, the strikethrough text button inserts the deprecated <strike> tags rather than using <del> tags or style text-decoration:line-through.

The support for DEL among browsers is weak, STRIKE is useful in the current situations.

 

I suggest you can let your client use the style builder to apply the inline style to the content.

According to Danny Goodman's Dynamic HTML book, <del> is supported by Netscape 6+ and IE 4+ and I can confirm that it works in Firefox 1.0.7 and Opera 8.02 so is it really that weak (I have not tested non-windows browsers which you probably have)?

Your example, however, is not really fair because you are not actually using <del> tags in your 'Use DEL' example.

Yeah, <del>Hello World</del> has been changed.

 

Ok, We will add a new property in the next version which allow you choose <strike>Hello World</strike> or <del>Hello World</del>.
