Insert Image Script Error

Hello,

When I click on the insert image or on the clean HTML buttons, I get the following error message:

Do you have the same problems with Insert Flash and media dialog?

Can you check the file names in your image gallery? Maybe some file names are invalid.

I have the same error message when calling the Clean Up HTML and the Insert Hyperlink module. I don't provide the possibility to upload Flash so I cannot tell if I have the same error.

The image gallery has only 4 pictures with normal file names like "Kansas.jpg".

I do not have that error when clicking on the simplified "Insert Image" function.

I made some tests and found that I get the scrip errors, when I was using a custom 404 message on the server.

Of course I do need this custom 404 error handling on the site.

Can you please let me know how to use/configure your software and still be able to use a custom 404 message.

This is the last step before going live with your product so I need this answer urgently.

We had a client who has the same problem.

" I came accross a simple/temporary workaround on this. In IIS, I set the entire site to use my custom 404 URL. In the directory that I have CE and the CE pages, I set it to use the default 404 error. Since I don't need the custom 404 for that directory, it will do. Works fine.. I tried to just do that with the bin and the CuteEditor_Files directories, but syntax errors still there.

I also has this problem - i just tried turning of custom 404 messages for the CuteEditor_Files folder, but this made no differecene.

What to do?

I cannot apply the other user advice. I need my custom 404 page on the directory where I'm using CE.

Why are you accessing the 404 when calling a function in the editor? Can it be because a file is missing in your package?

Why don't you configure your website with a custom 404, test this bug and solve it?

HERE IS THIS FIX:

in dialog.js, there is a reference to ../CuteEditorconstants.js this is not the correct path... switch this to CuteEditorconstants.js and everything will work fine. -Chris

You are great, your solution fixed the problem.

Just a minor question: how do you edit the .js file. On my editor the source code is one long line.

I recommend using notepad or wordpad... the files have been obfuscated, so it's next to impossible to really read them. You'll have do use the find tool. -Chris
