i'm about to install cute chat 3.0 in my cs 2007. after looking over the instructions and checking my files, i find i do not have a skins directory in the themes/default directory.

where should i put the Skin-DisplayUserWelcome.ascx file?

i just noticed there's a themes directory with default/skins in the download package from cute that includes the welcome.ascx file. should i deploy the entire skins directory to my cs default directory?

yes, i am using the zip for cs2007. that's where i got my instructions from.

your link is the very same deployment page that came with the download. it says to put the userwelcome file in the skins directory. there is no skins directory in cs2007. where you aware of that? the only copy i have of a skins directory came with your download.

so, should i put your skins directory with the userwelcome file into my themes/default directory? there is not one there now, so i cannot put the userwelcome file into a directory that is not present in the cs2007 themes/default directory.

are the deployment page instructions incorrect?

Adding a chat column into your forum list.

Copy UserWelcome.ascx to \Themes\default\Common directory of your Community Server installation.
Copy grouplist.aspx to \Themes\default\Forums directory of your Community Server installation.

i didn't ask about a chat column. i asked about this sentence in the deployment.htm:

Skin-DisplayUserWelcome.ascx should be deployed to \Themes\default\Skins directory of your Community Server installation.

there is no skins directory.

are you a real person, adam?

Sorry for the confusion. There is no Skin-DisplayUserWelcome.ascx for CS2007.

For CS 2007, please just copy UserWelcome.ascx to \Themes\default\Common directory of your Community Server installation.

It will add the messenger link and chat admin link to the top bar.
