XHTML and XSLT question

When I go to your demo at http://cutesoft.net/example/xmloutput.aspx I do this:

1) Clear the existing text

2) Type in test<tab>test<tab>test<spacebar><spacebar><spacebar>test

3) Click on HTML view and you get  without the  of course

4) Click on submit and you get -->  (I had to put spaces next to the # to get them to show..

On my machine, I put a cuteeditor alone on an aspx page with just a button.

I do the above exactly the same, but when I call push the button and get the .XHTML property, it looks like #3, not like #4 as I would expect. Worse yet, when I save the data and then give it back to CE, it encodes the & again, so i get

What setting am I missing? Is it some global config? I need to get the data in that encoded format, since I use the output in XSLT.

This example is running version 6.0.

Which version of Cute Editor are you using?

I redownloaded 6.0 at the end of last week and tested again before posting this. I also rebooted after the update and before trying it.

On a side note, may I ask why you guys make changes to the DLL and keep the version number 6.0.0.0? Doesn't that cause caching issues?

By this way, the client doesn't need to recompile their project.

How did you extract the data from Edtior? Are you using XHTML property?

Do you have the problem with the example included in the download package?

I was under the impression that the client shouldn't need to recompile if you don't change the first two. The only reason I ask is that I thought this might be a caching issue with an outdated CE assembly in my temp, but I deleted all of that and rebooted.

I am using the XHTML property anytime i interact.

The sample on my hard drive works as your demo does. Is there a way I can get the source code behind of that demo page to see what I am doing wrong or not setting? Maybe there is some kinda of encoding flag that got messed up?

Same code as me basically. When I step through in debug mode and break at what would be your textbox1.Text = Editor1.XHTML and hover over XHTML, I get the incorrect one. As a matter of fact, it looks like it has been encoded twice already:

for example. I just put in the text and submit and that's what I get.

On your demo somewhere there was a comment about choosing between encoding formats HTML1 or something. Where is that? Would that be related?

Well, I can give you a link to our client demo. The only problem is that you won't see the HTML tab and you can't see the data as it's going into the database.

This example works OK.

Now start to merge your exising code with this example until you break this example.

What do you mean it works correctly? It doesn't for me.

When you submit, you don't get

Ok, this link works.

The only thing that has changed is that I am remoted into my office machine (the one I was using earlier) from home.

I can only guess that this is caused by something in our application blocking something that needs to run in the CE to do that encoding.

Does that part of the encoding run in the script library client side before the postback, or is that supposed to run server side?

Can I get an answer to the above question?

I need to know if there is some kind of conflict my application is causing, and if so, what I should look for. I've taken everything out and still had the problem so far, so I am at a loss.

We have had several people and clients at different locations around the US try my example I set up for you at our hosted site. It has not worked for a single one of them.

This thread has been ignored now for a week. If you have any ideas of why this encoding would not work, or any advice on where to look to see if my application is causing a conflict, I need to know.

If you have no idea, well then just post telling me that. Not posting anything makes it appear you have just decided to ignore the thread in the hopes that it goes away.

2. I have uploaded the file again to the server in our application. The encoding does not happen. If the demo is standalone on our server, it works.

Clearly, this is an issue of the CE code having a conflict with something in our application globally. So, my question remains, does this encoding happen in Javascript on the client side or does it happen after the postback server side? Do you have any known conflicts with other third party controls that would cause this? Where do I look?
