Cute chat and Dnn2.12 Urgent Help!

Hi I bought Cute chat off your Australian reseller. Installed it from the msi installer and added the chat to the portal. Finally got the licience working after much toing and froing about. But I am having issues with the chat in that it keeps throwing the above message up. And no one can join the chat sucessfully. Do you have any advice or help you can provide?

Please wait, connecting to server... ... ...

Connection Failed.

Also why is it that the name shown in the chat room is the firstname in the dnn portal? How can I change it to the dnn username?

Ericl,

CuteChat only allow one user open one chat window. If you try to open the second window, you shoud get that error message...

Sorry. I just tried your site. I got the same error.

It looks like the serer connection is not stable for some reasons...

It is a windows 2003, P4 3.0G 1GB of ram server with two 80GB hdds. Can you explain why that is happening? At the moment, Cute Chat is unusable.

I just want to say thank you to Terry from Cutesoft and also Adam for their prompt help and attention in resolving my issue. Turned out that the application pooling on Windows 2003 was set to two worker threads and that was stuffing up cutechat.

I started writing a DNN module to see who is in a chat room, ie the names of the members, but I can't seem to be able to figure it out.

I figured out the number of people using the following

Dim cs As ChatSystem = ChatFactory.CreateChatSystem()

Dim user As UserIdentity

Dim al As ArrayList = New ArrayList

Dim ids() AsInteger = cs.ListRooms()

Dim id AsInteger

ForEach id In ids

Dim row As DataRow = cs.GetRoom(id)

al.Add(

New RoomInfo(row))

Repeater1.DataSource = al

Repeater1.DataBind()

But is there available a list of chat identities in a particular room?
