Re: Error on Image "Gallery" preview

I tried and cannot fix it.
I also try to clear the session and restart the IIS.
"Image Gallery" still viewing the wrong image and the problem cannot be fixed.

I upload the file in IE and see the problem then I try to view it in Firefox.
Both IE and Firefox contain the same problem.

Even you changed the image on the web server, however the browser still load the old image from the local cache.

Please clear the local browser cache and try again.

Re: Error on Image "Gallery" preview

You can disable your browser's cache and then test it. Please refer to the following steps:

Instructions for disabling your Browser Cache. This How To refers to both Firefox and Internet Explorer 7.x and 6.x

    Firefox Configuration

Each Firefox user should take a few minutes to explore the preferences that can be set in the Tools/Options dialog boxes. (You should also explore what options are available in the right-click menu that can help you over-ride your normal preferences from time-to-time.)

To disable your cache in Firefox, please follow these directions:

    1. In your address bar type: about:config
    2. In the "Filter section" type: browser.cache
    • Find the browser.cache.check_doc_frequency entry
    • Highlight and double click. Change the 3 (default) to 1 (which signifies "Check every time I view the page") in the dialogue box. Click OK.
    • Close window, exit, and restart Firefox to enable the change.

    Firefox_cache.jpg

As you can see above there's more to Firefox than what is shown in the Tools/Options menu.  For more detailed information see About:config entries.

Note: It appears that Firefox preserves cache preferences across minor version upgrades. For example, in upgrading from 1.0.3 to 1.0.4, customized preferences were not reset. In addition, installing service packs and patches could restore "default" settings, bringing back cache problems you thought you had fixed!

    IE Configuration

    Internet Explorer 7.x
    1. Select Tools > Internet Options
    2. Under the Browsing History section select the "Settings" button
    3. On the "Temporary Internet files and History Settings" window make sure that under Check for newer versions of stored pages you select the radio button entitled "Every time I visit the webpage"
    4. Select OK
    5. Select OK again
    6. Exit IE and restart to enable the change

    Internet Explorer 6.x
    1. Select Tools > Internet Options
    2. Under the Temporary Internet Files section select the "Settings" button
    3. On the "Settings" window make sure that under Check for newer versions of stored pages you select the radio button entitled "Every visit to the page"
    4. Select OK
    5. Select OK again
    6. Exit IE and restart to enable the change
    Regards,

Re: Error on Image "Gallery" preview

Sorry, I think we have some misunderstanding on this question.

The case shown in the Image Gallery which are showing the small thumbnails (80 X 80 by default).
When the current image will be shown when mouseover, the original image will be shown up.

With the use of the firebug, we found that the 80X80 image is like the following
    (../Load.ashx?type=thumb&setting=!3wEWAgUFemgtaGsFCmN1dGVzb2Z0JDEuLExn7RFyAMp3I!1sdbI3gAMzMEQ!2!2&VFilePath=/forum_uploads2/#RightPadding2.jpg&Width=80&Height=80)

But we have found the case that the thumbnail will not be updated on updating the original image.
    1. Upload a image (e.g. abc.jpg) through Image Gallery / Insert Image
    2. Go to Image Gallery, the image is displayed correctly.
    3. Go to Insert Image again, delete the (abc.jpg) and upload another image file with same name (abc.jpg)  OR doing it with another method
    4. when Go back to Image Gallery, the thumbnail(80X80 one) is still showing the old image, when mouseover, it will display the original image (here are another problem, if the dimension of old image and new image are different, it will be distorted. ). Just like the image pasted, there are 2 images on before and after moving the mouse over the thumbnail.

It is not related with browser cache, even we copy and paste the link to another browser or other machine, the image always display the old one.
Can you suggest any method which can update the image automatically or clear those "Cache" by CuteEditor manually?

Even you changed the image on the web server, however the browser still load the old image from the local cache.

As a web application, Cute Editor doesn't have the permission to clear your local browser cache.

Re: Error on Image "Gallery" preview

I have already stated, IT IS NOT RELATED TO BROWSER CACHE ....

problem still exists if copied to other browser / machine
