Style Sheet Virtual path

Hi,

I want to be able to use a style sheet using an absolute path, not a virtual path. Is this possible:

Editor1.EditorWysiwygModeCss = "http://www.mysite.com/styles/styles.css";

Using the above gives me errors. Is there another way?

You can use a style sheet using an absolute path as long as you set Editor.AutoParseClasses Property to false.

Editor.AutoParseClasses Property

Specify whether or not the Cute Editor should automagically parse the CSS classes from EditorWysiwygModeCss and populate all items into CssClass dropdown

But I want the CssClass drop down to auto-parse the elements of the style sheet. If it won't, how do I accomplish that without manually adding css classes to the drop down?

I've also found issue with the Images path,

SetSecurityImageGalleryPath

which also won't work without a virtual path. Can I work around that?

I don't want to be stuck with having to use virtual paths, because a user of the control may wish to specify image libraries and/or style sheets from other locations away from own website.

Gerardicus,

To parse the style sheet file, Cute Editor should first read the style sheet file using the System.IO.StreamReader.

The following remote style sheet is not supported by System.IO.StreamReader (You don't have permission to read the files in the remote server).

I can read the css files with StreamReader. What do I do with the stream?

But why isn't it possible to simply state an absolute path to any file that's required, such as a css file, or image gallery?

For the ImageGalleryPath, Cute Editor support the following format:

//use the app-based path
Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "~/uploads";

//use the absolute path
Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "/uploads";

//use the physical path
Editor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= @"c:\inetpub\wwwroot\uploads";

If you set Editor.AutoParseClasses Property to true, you can set Editor.EditorWysiwygModeCss Property using the following format:

//use the app-based path
Editor1.EditorWysiwygModeCss="~/portal.css";

//use the absolute path
Editor1.EditorWysiwygModeCss= "/default.css";

//use the relative path
Editor1.EditorWysiwygModeCss="example.css";

The following formats are invalid:

//CuteEditor can't set the ImageGallerypath in the remote sites.

ditor1.Setting["security:ImageGalleryPath"]= "http://yahoo.com/uploads";

//CuteEditor can't parse the css files in the remote sites.
