Invalid character

Hi,

I upgraded to 6.0 . Now I get a JS prompt every time the editor is loaded. The prompt is in Danish, but says something like "An invalid character was found in the text" - even if there is no text at all. Why?

When you upgrade have you replaced the DLL and all client files?

Can you reproduce this issue in the following example?

I got the same error. Did you solve this problem?

When using an older version from July 2007 (DLL and client files) it works.

Hi there.

I have upgraded from 5 to 6 and i am also experiencing this error.

What can we do to get i solved?

I also get an access denied error on some strange line.

If you find the following file CuteSoft_Client\CuteEditor\web.config file, please delete it.

If you still can't resolve this issue, please delete the old DLLs and client files, then upload the new dll and client files.

When testing, test a very simple page.

Then we may have a better understanding about this error message.

there was no web.config file. And when i put my editor by it self in a simple aspx file with all the default settings i get the same error message. I am running asp.net 1.1 is this compatible with that?

"An invalid character was fount in the text content"

ASP.NET version 1.1 is supported.

Can you just remove the DLLs and client files and download version 6.1, then try again?

If it still doesn't work for you, set up FTP access and send it to me or ken.

Nope... Cant get it to work. When i set a completely new project and add the dll references and set up the page exactly the same i get THAT to work, but when i delete my old references and files and add the new files and new references i get this error all the freakin time... i have even copied that exact code from the file that does work into my project. NOPE. Error. I've set all security settings on filesystem the same on these two projects.

I have also deleted all temporary files everyware. even in Windows/Microsoft.net/

The thing is. I don't get the error in Firefox 2.0 at all.

Please. come up with a solution...

Hi again.

We have solved our problem.

It was an encoding error. Our project had ISO-8859-15 encoding. And when IE tried to read the Language xml files it didn't like our å ä ö not when we hade ISO-8859-15 encoding... UTF works fine. which is default. So there you have it...

we didn't find a way to save the xml file in latin 9 so we made a hack.
