External CSS class vs ID

I am attaching an external CSS file programmatically to CE. The CSS file just has ID tags, no classes. CE won't show the IDs under CSS Class drop down. My programming is correct as for another site (different css file), I can show the classes.

How can I show IDs under Css Class drop down?

IDs are not supported in Css Class dropdown. Sorry for the inconvenience.
