Problem with relative/absolute paths and EditCompleteDocument

Hello Adam,

I have a problem with the following:

Our customers can write html document for sending an email. The can edit the complete document and have to add an image to an complete url, different from the domain they are working in(http://maintenenace.asite.com/), for example http://www.anothersite.nl/myimage.jpg.

I use the following setting:

editor.ImageGalleryPath = "/images"
editor.URLType = "SiteRelative"
editor.BaseHref = "http://www.anothersite.nl"
editor.EditCompleteDocument = true

It works fine if I set

editor.EditCompleteDocument = false

not if I set

editor.EditCompleteDocument = true

Can you help me with this????

NB I use CuteEditor for ASP 6

Same problem!!

I have downloaded the latest version.

NB it was the same I allready had

Please use editor.URLType = "Absolute"

Editor.URLType Property

Specify whether the URL should be converted to a site root relative path (/html/images/image1.gif) or an absolute path (http://www.mysite.com/images/image1.gif).

Example Code

      <%
           Dim editor
           Set editor = New CuteEditor
           editor.ID = "Editor1"
           'Determines how the toolbars and its buttons and dropdownlists are displayed .
           editor.URLType = "Absolute"
           editor.Text = "Hello World"
           editor.Draw()
      %>

Member Name	Description
Default	The URL is not converted.
SiteRelative	The URL is converted into a site root relative path. A site root relative path describes the location of the destination file by describing the route the browser must take from the Web site's root folder (top level in the folder structure). For example, a site root-relative path to an image may appear as: /html/images/image1.gif
Absolute	The URL is converted into an absolute path. An absolute path describes the physical location of a file on a machine or the exact location of a file on the Internet. An absolute path on your hard drive might appear as: An absolute path might appear as: http://www.mysite.com/images/image1.gif.

Adam,

With editor.URLType = "Absolute"
I get the folowing source:

BUT I want the image source to a different domain: editor.BaseHref = http://www.anothersite.nl

So this is not the solution!!

mverbeek,

Just add your base href to the head section.

If you set EditCompleteDocument property to true, all the elements inside head section is in your own control.

If this is the only solution, I am not pleased at all!!

Ik have different customers with different domains who use the html-editor for making letters for e-mailings. The make the documents themselfs.

Can you explain to me why it works fine if I set

editor.EditCompleteDocument = false

and not if I set

editor.EditCompleteDocument = true

Looks like a bug?!?

It's not a bug. It's by design.

If you set EditCompleteDocument property to true, all the elements (included base tag) inside head section is in your own control.

If you set EditCompleteDocument property to false, the base href is added by Cute Editor automatically.

Ok, I will try to work around this.

NB Never had any problem with previous versions 4 and 5.0!!

Can you take this up in a next release?
