Messenger in Chat? And, broken Messenger in CS2007?

We were playing with a demo install of Cute Chat for Community Server 2007, and we noticed that this seemed to add Cute Messenger to CS. I guess Messenger gets bundled in but is licensed seperately or something, right? And to not license it you simply don't add the Messenger bits to the configuration so that it doesn't show up at the top with the login links, right?

The other question is, when we did try to use Messenger, we logged onto two different machines as a different Community Server users but we couldn't search for any users or find each other. Is there a reason for this? For instance, does Cute Chat build up its own user list, in which case our pre-imported users aren't visible because they were imported into CS seperately from any Cute Chat integration ??

    Thanks,
    Jon

    Yes.

If you don't need the messenger, you can simply remove it from CS.

Cute Web Messenger doesn't keep its own user membership. It uses the CS's Membership database directly. However the relationship between the members are stored in Cute Web Messenger own DB.

Thanks. But now how do we remove it from CS? I'm sure it's simple but not sure what exactly to do.

I commented out this line from Web/Themes/{theme}/Common/UserWelcome.ascx:

    <%--<img src="<%=ResolveUrl("~/CuteSoft_Client/CuteChat/images/icon_invite.gif")%>" align=absmiddle>Messenger--%>

Not sure if this will suffice or not. I'd appreciate further elaboration. There is no line drawn between Cute Chat and Cute Messenger by way of seperate files or directories, they seem to be intertwined. Please let us know.
