License Questions

Hi,

I have just been reviewing your product and it looks excellent.

I would like to buy a license, however I will be coding the solution using our in-house development server. When complete the solution will be uploaded to the live web server.

Which license will I need to purchase - can I use a single domain license for the development, then transfer it to the domain once the site goes live?

Nick,

You can use the software on any machine via http://localhost/ for development purposes.

However if the web server is accessed using another hostname (i.e. it is a shared server) then you need to buy a copy for it. This means each of your development servers and test servers must have its own license.

Our dev server runs its own dns, therefore we do not use http://localhost/ instead it may be http://someclient.xxx.lan

Can I buy the 10 license package and change the licenses over time to point at different sites?

Nick,

Yes, with the small business license, you can create the license file for 1 or 2 domains and add the rest sites to the license file later.

Can I change the domain to which the licenses are registered?

Nick,

You can add more sites to the license file, but you can't change the existing domains.

Do sub domains require different licenses? For example:

http://nick.301design.com

http://dave.301design.com

Would the above URLs require 1 or 2 licenses?
