Hi,
Here is another idea…
I was thinking this morning, my partner and I were on our support chat and I realized that I cannot easily see who else is online doing support. I thought it would be cool if when you login as a live support operator you could see who else is logged in as an operator.
Perhaps where you see the list of waiting clients it could look something like this…
Operators Online: Operator 1 Name, Operator 2 Name.
Icon | Client | Status | Operator |
| Joe | Chatting | Operator 1 Name |
| Bob | Chatting | Operator 1 Name |
| Amy | Chatting | Operator 1 Name |
| Fred | Chatting | Operator 2 Name |
| Sarah | Chatting | Operator 2 Name |
| Sam | Waiting 2 minutes. | |
| Carter | Waiting 1 minutes. | |
Also, the client name could be clickable and that is how you could start a new chat with that client. My partner Eric did not like the idea of opening a new window for each client. So instead, there could be one chat window and a small icon beside each client’s name. Then when a client speaks, the icon would flash. When you click the client’s name, the chat log would swap to the chat with the person you clicked. (eg. the whole chat history would change depending on who you click)
This way you can talk to an unlimited number of clients, all in one window.
