Same problem. Take a look at the demo site, it is there what I changed. In order for you to see what happens do this:

 

1. switch to html mode and delete all content

2. switch to normal mode

3. choose a link and insert it

4. hit enter

5. choose a link and insert it

 

The last link will appear blank. In html mode you the URL but in normal mode you only see a space
