Unfortunately client certificates are mandatory in our scenario.   How come the simple file upload is working while the silverlight or flash versions don't? Do they use a completely different approach for data transmission?

Johan,   As your said, Cute Editor for PHP is using the PHP built-in upload function.   move_uploaded_file   If you are familar with PHP, the answer is yes.   All you need to do is modifying the existing upload php file.
