Delete your account
- Open RichFax and sign in to the account you want to delete.
- On the website, open Account, then Settings. In the app, open the Account screen.
- Resolve any active checkout, payment, refund or fax transmission. Deletion is blocked while an order needs reconciliation.
- Enter your current password. On the website, type DELETE in the confirmation field, then choose Delete account permanently. In the app, use the account deletion control and confirm.
Deletion is permanent. Your active account, password hash, sessions, verification codes, saved contacts and associated RichFax order records and stored documents are removed from the application database.
If you cannot sign in
Try the password reset option in RichFax. You can also request account and associated data deletion by emailing [email protected] from your registered account email, with the subject “RichFax account deletion request”. We must verify ownership before processing the request. Never email your password, payment card details or fax documents.
What can remain after deletion?
- Private application backups: copies containing deleted account data must be removed within 30 days of account deletion. Backups are not an active account and are restricted to recovery operations.
- Payment and tax records: Stripe retains its transaction records under its own retention rules and applicable law. Deleting RichFax does not erase completed payment or tax records at Stripe.
- Fax-provider files: completed outgoing files are queued for provider cleanup. Minimal cleanup records remain until removal is confirmed, then expire after seven days. Failed cleanup requires operator attention. Incoming faxes remain subject to Sinch retention and the receiving-number assignment; contact support about removing provider copies.
- Delivered emails and downloaded files: copies already delivered to your mailbox or saved on your devices remain until you remove them there.
- Security and infrastructure logs: limited operational records can remain under the hosting and provider retention rules. They are not restored as an active account.
Unresolved orders must be settled before account deletion so we can avoid duplicate transmissions or unfinished refunds. We do not promise immediate erasure of independently retained provider or legally required records.
Delete individual data without closing your account
Open Account → Contacts and delete a saved contact. In My faxes, use Delete for eligible drafts and completed, expired or refunded order records. Active payment or fax jobs cannot be deleted until resolved. These actions keep your account open.
Unsent saved PDFs expire after 24 hours. Completed or refunded local fax PDFs are removed. Unresolved local fax documents are removed after at most seven days. Account metadata otherwise remains until you delete it or close the account.
