CuteEditor changing text to lower case for style tags...

Greetings,

We are currently using your CuteEditor control, version 5.0 Build 2005-08-10.
The editor is changing the case of style url tags.
We have a need to preserve the case of style url tags.

Original data before opening with CuteEdit control.
<table style="background-image: url(/image/CaseSensitive.gif)">
<tbody></tbody>
</table>

Changed data after saving (without attempting any changes) with CuteEdit control.
<table style="background-image: url(/image/casesensitive.gif)">
<tbody></tbody>
</table>

Is there any way to work around this?
Is this a known issue that will be fixed in a future release of your product?

Please advise.

Please download the latest version:

With this new build, we added a new property ConvertHTMLTagstoLowercase.

/// <summary>
/// By default CuteEditor converts all HTML tags of the finally generated content to lower case.
/// You can turn this feature off by setting this property to false.
/// </summary
[CategoryAttribute("Behavior")]
[DefaultValue(true)]
public bool ConvertHTMLTagstoLowercase

If you want to update to this new build, please update WinIE.js, CuteEditor_Gecko.js.aspx and CuteEditor.dll.

Ok - Tried your suggestion, but had no luck.

The ConvertHTMLTagtoLowercase did not seem to do anything.

Double checked that the property was being set to false. (in debugger)

BEFORE:

<TABLE>...

AFTER:

<table>...

Tags are not actually the problem for us...
Please see above - first post - for actual problem.

Thanks for staying with me on this...

But - Your sample page has the problem too.

Try this:

goto http://cutesoft.net/example/ConvertHTMLTagstoLowercase.aspx

Switch the control to HTML view (click the HTML tab).
Type in...
<TABLE></TABLE>
Switch back to Normal view (click the Normal tab).

Switch again to HTML view.

You will see the tags are changed to lower case.

In our case, the problem seems to be when the data is loaded.

The string given to the control is mixed case, but the control renders it in lower case.

Hope this makes sense.

Now the above example is using the following configuration code:

<CE:Editor ConvertHTMLTagstoLowercase="false" id="Editor1" DisableAutoFormatting="true" runat="server" ></CE:Editor>

Yes, turning off auto formatting works ok - but...

We like the auto formatting option and would like to still use it if possible.

Is there a way that your code could be modified to

preserve the case of the text within the url() function call?
