Server Error in '/' Application. demo

Hello,

I have a error in demo if Im trying to run application from the /WebApplication1/ folder on the server. it 's working OK from the root : /httpdocs/.

Parser Error

Description: An error occurred during the parsing of a resource required to service this request. Please review the following specific parse error details and modify your source file appropriately.

Parser Error Message: File or assembly name CuteEditor, or one of its dependencies, was not found.

Is it a demo version problem , or it's something else, like restriction of my server ?

Have you created a virtual directory and point it to the WebApplication1 folder?

I see that i have to set editor FilesPath property correctly. I say it is a problem.

So, I didn't

create a virtual directory ,But I don't need it on the remote server ?!, i'm trying to find out something in Documentation but no result yet.

Please, sent me a link to this issue .

Have you created a virtual directory and point it to the WebApplication1 folder?

I hope , I not need it, but the question is- that Cute Editor don't want to go from folder different from /httpdocs/bin/... and so on . (on the web server)

if I'm trying /httpdocs/webapplication1/bin ... (on the web server)as a result I have mistake like above. I see that have to put some kind of a link to /webapplication1/ folder , but cannot find out in a documentation where and how to make it possible for Cute Editor running from different location.

It is actualy working the way it is:

The "CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor" folder and all file it contains (you can find in the download package) should be deployed to http://{your site}/{your application}/CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor/ on your web site.

If you want to deploy the CuteEditor Client file to a different location, you will have to make sure that you set your editor FilesPath property correctly. The control expects to find the all the files and images in the files directory specified by the control FilesPath property. For sure, I cannot find the answer, where is editor FilesPath property.

Sorry if my question shows up like too simple.

If you didn't create a virtual directory and point it to WebApplication1 folder, you can also copy the CuteEditor.dll and CuteEditor.lic to your root bin folder.

"ASP.NET attempts to solve these problems by allowing components to be placed in a well-known directory, to be automatically found at run time. This well-known directory is always named /bin, and is located immediately under the root directory for the application (a virtual directory defined by Internet Information Services (IIS)). The benefit is that no registration is required to make components available to the ASP.NET Framework application -- components can be deployed by simply copying to the /bin directory or performing an FTP file transfer. "

To let ASP.NET find components, the bin folder must located immediately under the root directory for the application (a virtual directory. Otherwise ASP.NET won't find the components.

Hello Adam,

If I want to deploy the CuteEditor Client file to a different location, how can I set my editor FilesPath property to a different location?

I found this post http://cutesoft.net/forums/4921/ShowPost.aspx,

It looks like i have to put this string to somewhere :

<CE:Editor FilesPath = "~/somefolder/CuteSoft_Client/CuteEditor" id="Editor1" runat="server" ></CE:Editor>

Where can I find this FilesPath property?Is it a Web.config.aspx? or something else...
