I tested CE in my local machine, eg wwwroot and it works ok, but it sends a error msg once I try to test it in my remote server.

Exception : System.ComponentModel.LicenseException: The License for Editor is not valid.

Does it means that I can only use the trial version locally?

Yes, that's the limitation of the trial version. It only allow you run it on localhost for testing.
