Hello,

 

Is it possible to install the CuteEditor for .net oust side the c:\Inetpub\wwwroot location
or out side the default web directory?

I have most of my websites outside of the default website directory.
the physical location is on a drive that is out side of the default location
where IIS wwwroot is installed by default.

 

I have tried to get the demos to work and the only place I can get then to work
is if CuteEditor is located in c:\Inetpub\wwwroot\CuteEditor 

I would like to have it located in d:\mywebsites\CuteEditor

 

Can anyone shed some light on the issue I'm having?

Step 1. Create a virtual directory in your iis, type a name for the new virtual directory. Point this virtual directory to d:\mywebsites\CuteEditor.

Step 2. use the Editor.FilesPath Property to specify the path to editor files.

I have 2 web sites that have virtual directories in iis and have pointed the virtual dirs to
d:\mywebsites\CuteEditor

Both website use the editor files located at d:\mywebsites\CuteEditor


If you go to
www.theicepit.org/cute    a site located d:\mywebsites
the demos do not work


I have another virtual dir in the c:\interpub\wwwroot\cute
this belongs to http://www.infotrails.com/cute/ the default web site
If you go to this url you will see that it works

With both virtrual directories using the same files. shouldn't the demos
work with both urls?

If you set up a virtual directory in your IIS and point it to the editor client files, for example, the virtual directory name is

 

"/CuteEditor"

 

You should use the Editor.FilesPath property the specify the path.

 

This is an example:

 

<CE:Editor id="Editor1" FilesPath="/CuteEditor" runat="server"></CE:Editor>
