i am having trouble with the cute editor and character encoding.

 

i have a page with a multiline text box, and the html editor.

 

when i enter the following £•▪™ (a pound sign, a bullet point, a square bullet, and a trade mark sign) the html editor removes some and converts the others into question marks. the multiline editor removes the square bullet, and keeps the others.

 

why is the html editor removing essential characters.

 

the web.config file:

<globalization fileEncoding="UTF-8" requestEncoding="UTF-8" responseEncoding="UTF-8" culture="en-GB" />

 

currently the page the editor is on:

<%@ Page Language="VB" ValidateRequest="false" ContentType="text/html" ResponseEncoding="UTF-8" Debug="true" %>

 

what am i missing???

AND HOW COME ON YOUR SITE I CAN SEE THEM ALL!! - ... help!

the £ and tm sign are being saved to the database, and are in the HTMl view as £•™ & # 1 6 3 ; & # 8 2 2 6 ; & # 8 4 8 2 ; (without the spaces) but the html editor is failing to display them... any ideas?

Cutesoft are continually making improvements, either through fixing bugs reported in this forum or things they spot themselves. It's always worth downloading the latest copy.
