G_start and G_end ???

what are those 2 templates items doing ?

is it a line break that makes sure that a group of buttons will allways shift lines togheter?

They correspond to group start and group end and are geared at ensuring that a group of buttons don't end up broken across two menu rows. I don't recall the HTML they output...

G_start and G_end  render as

 

<nobr> ... </nobr>

I found out myself though :)

I was just to lazy to test it at the time.

It was very late here when i wrote this, it was actually early next day.    :)
