Remove a PDF password

This tool cannot open a password-protected PDF, so it cannot remove the password. Here is what to do instead.

How it works
  1. If you know the open password, ask the person who sent the file for an unlocked copy.
  2. If the file is yours, open it with the password in the program you used to create it and save a copy without protection.
  3. If you do not have the rights to the file, ask the owner. Removing protection from someone else's document is not something this tool helps with.
What this tool does
  • Opens PDFs without a password, then lets you fill, sign, flatten and save them.
What it does not do
  • It does not open or unlock password-protected PDFs.
  • It does not remove a password or the usage restrictions set on a file.
